Why Pastured Pork?

You may often hear that a hog may be “grass-fed” or “pastured” and many may wonder what the difference is between the two. Our hogs may be considered grass fed as they do eat plenty of it, but that is not the entire diet for pastured pork.

The term pastured for our hogs helps ensure that they get the great benefits of fresh air, sunshine, and plenty of grass. The moms, the babies, and the ones heading to market have all had the pleasure of being raised on a pasture. Hogs raised outdoors usually stay healthier, do not have a need for antibiotics as they would in a confined environment, and all this gives the hogs less stress as they mature.

The lower stress levels and better environment allow for a more delicious and flavorful taste and quality for our PORK. This helps set us apart and makes sure we give our customers the best pork and raise a happy healthy line of swine.
