Why You Should Join the Kansas City Food Circle

The food system lies at the very heart of our health, our economy, and our local community. Unfortunately, the drive to become the world’s low cost producer of food has backfired. The industrial food system is ecologically destructive, inhumane, increasingly subject to contamination and much less efficient than it might appear. In a word, it’s unsustainable.
The Kansas City Food Circle’s mission is to connect you with local, organic, and free range food, so together we can create a more sustainable local food system. We publish a directory of local, organic and free range food producers, table at events, and speak to community groups. Every year we host two Exhibitions of Farmers (our EAT LOCAL AND ORGANIC! Expos) where people can meet local farmers and discover the joys of eating local, organic, and free-range.
We invite you to join in our mission.
As a member, you will receive:
- an Eat Local & Organic! Dining Card
- our UPDATE newsletter, keeping you current with the latest research, food policy, area events and trends in the local food movement
- an invitation to our annual membership meeting where we discuss hot topics affecting consumers and producers in Kansas City
- a chance to meet other KCFC members at members-only events held throughout the year
