Gasper Family Farm
Gasper Family Farm is a small, diversified family farm near Fort Scott, Kansas. We produce GRASS-FED BEEF, PORK, CHICKEN and DUCK from healthy pastured animals and grow heirloom VEGETABLES. We raise DAIRY COWS. Our goal is to provide natural, great tasting, nutrient-dense food that builds health and restores the environment. We do this by raise our animals and vegetables as God intended by working with nature, instead of against it, and forgoing the use of chemicals. We have MEAT and DAIRY CSA’s. We deliver food weekly to Overland Park and Lawrence.
We sell on the farm, at farmers markets and deliver to drop-off sites.
Exceptions to Producer Pledges
GMO Free honey produced by my brother in laws. They may use limited pesticides on hives on as-needed basis before the honey run.

We serve consumers in eastern Kansas, especially the Kansas City metro area, Lawrence, Topeka, and Fort Scott.
It is our goal to provide natural, health building food for local families. We believe in raising animals as God intended by working with nature instead of against it. Not only does this make for a healthier environment, but also healthier animals and tastier food that is better for you!
We practice organic methods. All our animals are raised without antibiotics, growth hormones or other chemicals! Our low-stress handling and production techniques keep the animals healthy and happy. Instead of harmful chemicals we use natural healing practices like vitamin and mineral supplements and homeopathic treatments to maintain the health of our livestock.

100% Grassfed Beef
Our 100% grassfed beef is produces from naturally raised cattle that have spent their entire life on pasture. They have been fed only pasture, local hay, and non-grain forage crops. Like all our animals they are handled using low-stress techniques. The result is healthy, tasty beef high in Omega-3′s and CLA’s.
We are currently taking pre-orders for 2011 bulk beef (split-side, side, or whole). Supplies are very limited so make your reservation as soon as possible. We also have a limited selection of 2010 cuts left for you to try.
100% Grassfed Dairy
Our milk, cheese, butter, cream and colostrum come from 100% grassfed dairy cows. The only 100% grassfed dairy in Eastern Kansas, this food is high in health building Omega-3′s and CLA’s. This is because our cows are raised and milked in their natural pasture environment using rotational grazing, and low stress handling techniques. We don’t use rBGH or other growth hormones.
Don’t believe people who tell you dairy cows must have grain. Ours get none and they are healthier for it. Grain free dairy is healthier, higher quality and you can taste the difference.
Our heritage breed, Gloucestershire Old Spots are raised naturally and humanly on pasture without chemicals or nose rings. Their food comes from a combination of pasture, hay, forage crops, 100% grassfed dairy by-products from our own dairy, and locally grown organic grains. This unique combination of rare genetics and quality diet make for exquisite tasting pork. Our pigs are never confined and born on pasture. We do not use farrowing crates.

Pastured Whole Chicken
We raise slower growing broilers that take 9 to 11 weeks to reach butcher weight. Why? Slower growth means better flavor and avoids the health issues of the Cornish cross birds (supermarket chicken). These chickens are a nicely balanced chicken with good leg meat as well as breast meat. They are fed only locally grown organic grains and never fed medicated or arsenic laden feed. Folks regularly praise the exceptional taste and quality of our chicken.

Pastured Chicken Eggs
Our acclaimed eggs are from pastured hens. These chickens spend their life on pasture foraging for bugs, seeds, and grass. They are supplemented with locally grown organic grain, organic minerals and organic kelp to ensure nutritious eggs for your family.
Some stores sell eggs from ‘vegetarian’ chickens. But that is not their natural diet and is only possible if kept confined in cages or barns. Our hens live on pasture eating a natural diet, including bugs and earthworms, to produce eggs of exceptional quality.
We will be raising Ancona duck for those who pre-order at the beginning of the season. Ducks forage for a great deal of their own food, keeping our farm clear of ticks and chiggers and producing exquisite meat. Their diet is supplemented with locally grown organic grain.
In the spring we will have a limited quantity of goose eggs available.
How to Order
We have a drop-off in Overland Park where we take food that has been pre-ordered. The drop-off occurs monthly in the winter and weekly during the growing season, starting in April. Our weekly newsletter contains the current pricing, product availability, and drop-off schedule. To order, reply to that or call us at 913-723-3838. We are interested in opening other drop-off locations as demand warrants.
We take reservations at all times for bulk freezer beef and bulk freezer pork. We custom raise these animals for you and then deliver them to the butcher when they are ready. The butchers we use for Kansas City area customers are Santa Fe Trail Meats in Overbrook, KS and Paradise Locker Meats in Trimble, MO. To reserve you will fill out a custom cut sheet specifying to the butcher how you want your meat cut. Please email to confirm availability before ordering. The sooner you order the better. Do not wait until the month you want your meat or you may experience delays.
