GRASS-FED BEEF, PASTURED POULTRY , FREE-RANGE EGGS, PASTURED LAMB, HERITAGE PORK.

Our rocky farm is good for growing one thing: grass, especially native tall-grass prairie. Grazing animals really thrive here in this sea of native grasses (and wildflowers) flanked by a 50-acre woodland of oak and hickory. Since 1973, generations of our Simmental x Angus cattle have been adapting perfectly to their habitat. No preventive antibiotics or hormone growth implants. Our lean and flavorful grass-fed beef is recognized as Certified Artisan Beef. We’ve also added a few complementary grazing species such as sheep (along with their large guardian dogs) & a few heritage pigs. Grain fed to poultry and pork is raised at a nearby farm using organic methods and non-GMO varieties. We have recently added a hydroponic grass system to assure quality forage supplies to all our animals through the winter and through times of drought. Animals are harvested by a local processor where all beef is dry-aged. We offer packages of several sizes as well as individual cuts. Please visit our newly updated web-site for complete information. We offer online ordering and payment, plus delivery throughout the area. Some prefer an on-farm pick-up so they can bring the kids out for a real farm visit.

Exceptions to Producer Pledges

We purchase weaned piglets to finish on our farms. These pigs are about 8 weeks old and we raise them to final weight and about 5-6 months of age. The piglets are purchased from small farmers who do not operate CAFO’s or use antibiotics or hormones.

We buy chicks from commercial hatcheries.
