Our rocky farm is good for growing one thing: grass, especially native prairie. Over the years, trying all kinds of crops, we have found the only thing that really does well here is our herd of Simmental-Angus cattle, who have adapted to the place. We figure we aren’t in the cattle business — we’re in the grass business. We haven’t used preventive antibiotics or hormones for years. Our lean, super-tender and flavorful grass-fed beef is recognized as a Certified Artisan Beef.
Fully turned on by the power of the grass and to further improve it, we’re beginning to add more species, such as pastured POULTRY and EGGS. We expect to add pastured LAMB and PORK in 2011.
We offer convenient online ordering and payment plus delivery throughout the area, although some of our customers prefer on-farm pick-up so they can bring the kids out for a real farm visit.
